CHILD PROTECTION POLICY AND ANTI-BULLYING POLICY OF THE SCHOOL
Binoligan Integrated School originated a child protection policy which was shown during general PTA meeting last July 2014. It was indorsed by the school principal to the teachers, barangay officials, PTA officials and stakeholders.
This policy has been approve by the school principal addressed to pupils/students, parents and other stakeholders, and should be presented during general PTA meeting with regard to the behaviour of the pupils/students. Expect some interactions from parents, stakeholders in order to support such policy.
THE SCHOOL CHILD PROTECTION POLICY AND ANTI-BULLYING POLICY
-All members and staff of the school should be aware on the DO’s and Don’ts
DO’s
-Do treat all young pupils/students with dignity and respect.
-Do attentive the words that comes out on your language, and the actions to be done.
-Do treat your pupils/students equally.
-Do observe proper dress code.
Don’ts
-Don’t show favouritism.
-Don’t share sleeping accommodation.
-Don’t invite a student where ever you go alone, invite them with group.
-Don’t permit abusive peer activities, such as bullying.
-Don’t allow a student’s wear ridiculous attire in going to school.
-Don’t allow students play rough or provocative game.
-Don’t be sexually suggestive about or to students even in fun.
Action:
- The school should listen to anyone who wants to talk any incidents or suspect abuse/or a student’s being bullied.
- Make sure that the information gather must be put into written and give assurance that only those who need to know will be told.
- Discuss the matter with the child protection officers for the steps need to be taken to protect the child /students who may being abused or bullied.
- Records must be kept confidential.
- Call the right person to do the investigation.
Procedure:
Detailed record must be made at the time of disclosure, and given to the child protection officer and the principal for an advice on the schools course of action. In the most serious cases contact with the police is required or to the DSWD with in 24 hours.
The abuse will be given assistancefor his/her safety.
Staff responsibility:
Report to the principal or to the higher officer in his/her absence nearest to your school. Any concern or allegations about school practices are likely to put pupils/students at risk of abuse or serious harm.
There will be no excuses and be given disciplinary action taken against a member or staff of the school against the students for making such allegation. The school head refer the victims and offender to the DSWD for assessment for intervention.
