1.  Solid relationships with each superintendent. Throughout the year we try to keep them up-to-speed on the positive impact our Scouts are having on their community. We have even honored some of our superintendants at a few of our Golden Eagle Dinners (Distinguished Citizen Dinners).

2.  As we schedule school visit during the months of May, June and July, we deliver a thank you gift to the principals of each school. We have given left over Camp Cards that we had; this year we are giving them a bouquet of pencils for them and their staff.

3.  Engage the Units in promoting their own school night. We provide units with yard signs, posters, and “Parent’s Guides” at least five weeks prior to their school night. They use these tools to promote their school night. In the attached booklet on page 9 we train our units how to effectively promote their school night sign-up. The key is to follow up with the units to make sure they are following the plan.

4.  Every family that comes to a school night signs up for Scouting. We train our School night presenters to accomplish this task. We have even developed a brief “presenter Training” video that we use to assist in training them. We give each boy that pays at the sign-up night a ‘trinket/gift’ - this year it is a Cub Scout Glider.

5.  A well trained staff. Our staff is prepared to do an outstanding rally/boy talk in EVERY class, grades 1 – 5. We prepare by doing a “Rally-Off” prior to actually visiting classrooms.

6.  We also distribute two sets of flyers. One set at least a week before we rally the school, the other set the day we rally.
