Dear Applicant:
Pilgrim Baptist Church is pleased to offer the George T. Washington Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was created in honor and recognition of the many years of dedicated service Mr. Washington provided to the Red Bank and surrounding communities. Through a competitive application process, the scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student that, upon graduation, will be pursuing a post-secondary education.
Value of Scholarship Award: $1,000.00
The following criteria must be met for consideration.
v Attending a 2 or 4 year college, trade or vocational institution;
v Student in the Red Bank and surrounding communities, and/or member in good standing of Pilgrim Baptist Church regardless of school district.
v Cumulative GPA: C+ (2.5/4.0 scale) or better;
v Completed application received by the date indicated.
v Documented 20 hours of Community Service.
Please complete the attached application and return with the following information:
1. An official High School transcript which must include official SAT scores or verification of SAT scores by the Guidance Counselor, signed and sealed in an official school envelope
2. Two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from an organization, demonstrating the applicant’s community service
3. A student biography with a recent wallet size, non returnable photo.
The application and supporting documents must be received by May 18, 2014. Completed applications should be returned to:

The scholarship will be awarded Sunday, June 8, 2014, at the Pilgrim Baptist Church Graduation Service at 10:45 a.m. The recipient’s attendance is required at this service.
