Nelson Corporation Bus Routes
On 1st September 1923 the first bus services commenced operation in Nelson. Initially there were three routes., all operating from the Market Square; to Cloverhill (later Sackville St.), Waidshouse Road. and Marsden Hall Road.
Until the formation of the Burnley, Colne & Nelson Joint Transport Committee in 1933, Nelson Corporation used letters to identify their routes as follows: -

Note the gearless Lion behind, no 138, a 1936 LT7c with B38R English Electric bodywork. The Market Square was Nelson's bus station for all their local services.
