Acting Cultural Event
Due Dec 1st
See a show: You are responsible for attending one (1) live event first semester for your cultural event report. This event must be presented by a reputable company that is known for producing quality performances. Events may include any of the following:
CSHS Theatrical Play/Musical, CSHS Dance Show, CSHS Choir Concert, CSHS Band Concert, DFT Performances, Rock The District, or CSHS Talent Show.
Write a paper: When you attend the event, be sure to keep your ticket stub and program from the event as proof of attending. Then after the event you must write a two-page response to the performance you attended. Your paper must be written in 12pt font and double spaced. (If you use the font “Garamond” you’ll get kudos points for saving the planet.)
What goes in the paper: You should cover the following topics in your paper. Your report should be written like a report in paragraph from. Do NOT simply answer the questions. Papers not written in paragraph form risk not being graded.
1: Provide a BRIEF explanation of the event: the who, what, where, and when. Also, provide some context to the event. For example was this an elementary school production or a professionally produced Broadway performance?
2: Explain, describe or speculate who you think the target audience of this event was and who would have most likely enjoyed the event. Explain why.
3: Select a performer from the event and provide a description of his/her performance. Explain what he/she did well and not so well. Speculate the kind of preparation that performer might have taken to prepare for this performance. How might he/she have improved their performance?
4: Did you enjoy the performance? Why do you think you did or did not?
5. Based on your description of the target audience and the context in which the event was presented, explain whether the event was successful or not and why.
6: Would you return to this performance again? Why or why not?

Your paper will be due WITH the ticket stub or program stapled to it. They are to be turned in by Dec 2th. However, you may turn it in early so that you are not stressing over it on Dec 1st.
