CLASS TITLE:TURNPIKE SERVICES INSPECTOR
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is work inspecting the Florida Turnpike Patron Service facilities to ensure the maintenance of satisfactory health standards.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

- Conducts inspections of food service facilities to ensure that kitchens, dining rooms, dish washing machines, and washrooms are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, and that equipment is in operable condition.
- Inspects service stations for cleanliness, sanitation and service.
- Inspects all concessions for competitive comparisons of prices and services with outside facilities to make certain Turnpike facilities are equal or better.
- Consults with service facilities managers concerning inspection results, and notifies supervisor of major problems that require attention.
- Visits motels, restaurants, and service stations adjacent to the Florida Turnpike and distributes brochures, maps, mileage charts, and related information to promote travel, understanding, and appreciation of the Florida Turnpike.
- Prepares written reports of all inspections.
- Performs related work as required.

- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of the basic standards of sanitation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of experience in hotel, restaurant or service facility operations.
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required experience.
- Vocational/technical training in one of the experience areas described above can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
