Do some research about 'how children lived in the late 1800s early 1900s'. Discover what education was like, what jobs they worked in, the hours they worked and the pay they received. Find out the ages they did these things. Find out about their living conditions and what happened if they became ill. Understanding and Application:Prepare a short three minute presentation on what you have learned about any of the topics above. You can present this on paper or using power point.

Evaluation:Create a poster comparing children lifestyles: Put an image of a modern day child and child from the early 1900s onto two separate sheets of paper. From information you have gathered and what you know about yourself draw arrows pointing to the pictures with factual comments about the differences in life styles. These could include, education, life expectancy, types of work, ages they did things (e.g. left school) diet, clothing, life opportunities etc..
Imagine you are a factory owner or school teacher. Write your own list of rules or punishments for children at your factoryorschool.
Either make a list or create a power point of objects/items/gadgets you have at your home today that people in the late 1800s to early 1900s did not have, e.g. cars, electricity, TV etc...
