Format of Events:

(Subject to sufficient entry numbers)

Senior singles events: Groups to knockout (top two in each group advance to knockout). Top seeds in Men’s singles (up to eight seeds) and Ladies’ singles (up to four seeds) may be seeded directly into Knockout stage.

Senior doubles events: Knockout

Junior events (U-18, U-15, U-13):

First round groups, top two advancing to second round groups, remainder to Plate event. Winner of second round group advances to knockout. 5-8 play-offs in all events. (If there are insufficient entries, there may be no second round groups stage).

Boys’ & Girls’ U-18: depending on entry numbers, up to top four seeds may receive a bye to Second Round Group stage (at discretion of tournament referee)

“Hopes” (U-11): Round robin format. This is not an Irish Ranking event. All matches Best-of-Three

Disability Events: We intend to hold Standing, Wheel-chair and Learning Disability events. These may be combined or cancelled depending on numbers.

Tournament Regulations/Instructions

  1. No late entries will be accepted (as per Table Tennis Ireland policy). Do not send cash in the post.
  2. Players may enter no more than fiveevents. Maximum entry numbers may apply: “last-in, first-out” if oversubscribed.
  3. Merging of Veterans Men’s and Ladies’events may take place, should entry numbers dictate.
  4. D.O.B. required for all age-restricted events.
  5. No refunds for players who enter events for which they are not eligible: please check your entry form carefully.
  6. All matches will be played according to the Rules and Regulations of Table Tennis Ireland and the I.T.T.F.
  7. Competitors must be affiliated to Table Tennis Ireland or an ITTF-affiliated association.An affiliation check will be carried out by Table Tennis Ireland prior to the event.
  8. Players will be scratched if not present and ready to play when called upon.
  9. All competitors will be required to Umpire.
  10. The draw will be seeded in all main events.Byes may be allocatedon Friday night in Senior Singles and in U-18 events as per Table Tennis Ireland regulations.
  11. Matches will be “Best-of-5”(except U-11 and all Plate matches: “Best-of-3”)
  12. Group standings as per I.T.T.F. Regulation 3.7.5 for group competition.
  13. The decision of the Referee will be final on points of law and in all cases of dispute. The decision of the Umpire will be final on points of fact.
  14. Players who enter a number of different events and are successful in them must accept that they may be asked to play without rest.
  15. Under-13 Coach to be named at Check-in. No coaching/time-outs allowed in U-11s.
  16. Table Tennis Ireland policy on Video/Photographywill apply. Details must be registered with organizers.
  17. Doping control may take place.
  18. Table Tennis Irelandincluding all its Branches, Leagues, Committees and others who are affiliated to Table Tennis Ireland reserves the right to cancel, postpone, discontinue or abandon any event or tournament at any time and for any reason whatsoever (hereinafter “an occurrence”). Where such an occurrence arises, the liability of Table Tennis Ireland shall be limited to a maximum of a refundof the entrance fees paid by the entrant. Table Tennis Ireland does not accept responsibility or liability for any associated and/or consequential losses (including, but not limited to travel or accommodation expenses), whether monetary or otherwise, incurred by the entrant. Table Tennis Ireland does not accept responsibility or liability in respect of any costs, expenses or other losses incurred by spectators, officials, coaches, members of the media or other attendees of any event or tournament.
  19. Acceptance of these Regulations is a condition of entry.
  20. Entry to any event represents a binding agreement to pay the relevant entry fees. Entry to future events will not be accepted from players whose entry fees are not paid.

A list of entrants will be posted on the Munster Table Tennis web-site after the Closing Date and the Groups and Draws will be posted two days before the tournament.

All players and coaches are advised to check the web-site to confirm that all players are entered into the appropriate events.

Plastic White 40+ Balls will be used at this event.
