If the answer to that question is a resounding “yes,” apply for the Chief Executive Officer position at Richland County First Steps (RCFS). The CEO provides overall management and leadership for all RCFS initiatives and activities, directs implementation of the strategic plan with a focus on improving the level and availability of quality services and programs that will lead to increased school readiness of the county’s children.
Our Story: RCFS, a 501(c)3 organization, is one of 46 partnerships of SC First Steps to School Readiness, the state’s comprehensive early childhood education initiative founded in 1999. The focus is to ensure the state’s children are ready for school success. RCFS is supported by funding from the state, the federal government, grants, and private contributions and has an annual budget of $2M.
About the Position:The CEO is responsible for inspiring a staff of 38 full-time education and administrative staff, collaborating with multiple private and public organizations serving children and their families, raising supplemental funds and managing the budget.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with seven years’ experience in successfully developing and managing human services programs, or a master’s degree with four years’ experience in successfully developing and managing human services programs. The position requires the ability to be a leader in the community, supervise staff, manage budgets, generate funds, collaborate with diverse community groups, and communicate effectively.
Reports to: Richland County First Steps Board of Directors
Supervises:
Leadership Management Team consisting of Directors of Administration and Accountability, Early Care and Learning (ExCEL), Early Head Start, and other key staff
Location: Columbia, SC
Salary Range: $79,119-$101,733
