Apex seeks two Design Interns

Apex Supply Chain Technologies, LLC is seeking college juniors, seniors, graduate students or recent graduates to fill two paid part-time design internships (or one of 40 hours) at its world headquarters in Mason, Ohio near Kings Island.

An Apex Design Intern is responsible for the design and execution of creative concepts for print advertising, marketing, video and web design. You will work with the guidance of a digital services manager and collaborate with fellow designers, copywriters, brand managers and front-end developers. We are looking for students who are passionate about design, want to understand the creation and use of digital assets, and are willing to work hard to deliver excellent work. Along with a base knowledge of design software and tools, we are looking for the best design interns willing to learn quickly. Apex will provide a great opportunity for a design student to see their designs used in marketing efforts.

The internships will be for approximately 20 hours per week (or more) weekdays and may be tailored to fit your class schedule.The interns will report to the Digital Services Manager.

Primary responsibilities:

Assist in execution and production of existing concepts to provide complete deliverables, applying style/brand guides and templates where applicable

Present rationale for design choices; assure design meets business objectives as stated in creative briefs

Visualize and design user interfaces for a variety of media channels, including web and mobile applications

Create visual prototypes through flat screens or HTML

Minimum qualifications:

Ideal candidate is a college junior or senior or graduate student pursuing a multi-media or design degree or a 2013 graduate with a degree in multi-media or design

Strong and diverse design portfolio, including pieces from a variety of design mediums

A good working knowledge of interactive Web functionality is preferred

Passionate and self-motivated individual seeking to learn about new design and web trends

Understanding of interactive design (HTML, CSS) is a plus

Desire to work with video, motion for video, or editing video is a plus

Ability to work well with senior leadership and fellow marketing and design team members is critical

Experience in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator is required. Work with InDesign and Adobe Premier is a plus

Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Legal Permanent Resident, or have a valid student visa
