BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF TIME ALONE WITH GOD

Mark 1:35

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”

Psalm 5:3

“In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

Psalm 1:2-3

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

2 Timothy 3:15

“And how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 42: 1-2

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirst for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

·  Time alone with God is time getting to know God through reading His Word and prayer

·  Time alone with God feeds our souls – there is more to us than just our physical bodies!

v  Why do you think Jesus spent time alone with God early in the morning? What can we learn from this?

v  It is not enough for us to master Christian beliefs and doctrine (knowing all the right answers) but we must be mastered by the Lord in our everyday lives.

v  Business in your day (Martin Luther)

PERSONAL APPLICATION: What is one thing you can act on based on the Scripture and discussion from this Campaigners? Pick a good verse from the Bible and try to memorize it this week.
