Appearance Requirements for a Handwritten Paper

·  The heading is in the upper right hand corner.

·  It consists of:

o  Your first and last name

o  Subject and period

o  Date

·  Standard blue or black ink only (No pencil or markers.)

·  Do not write over words that have already been written.

·  No excessive mark-outs (mark out with only a single line).

·  No white-out

·  Legible, neat handwriting

·  Do not write on the back.

·  Observe all margins (Do not write in the margins at all-- no numbering).

·  The title is on the top line. Do not underline it. Do not draw a box or circle around it. Skip one line and then begin the text.

·  Do not write on the top line of a page unless it is the title.

·  No doodling or extraneous marks on any paper (not even flowers or hearts)!

·  Indent all paragraphs.

·  No spiral paper

·  No ripped holes

·  The heading is in the upper right hand corner. It consists of:

o  Your first and last name

o  Subject and period

o  Date

·  The title is centered below the heading. Do not underline it. Do not draw a box or circle around it.

·  Use Times New Roman font.

·  Use twelve-point font.

·  Do not underline or bold the title.

·  Double-space the entire paper except the heading. (Learn how to set the computer to automatically do this.)

·  Be sure to use spell check.

·  Indent all paragraphs.

·  Print in black only.

·  If your printer does not work, you must bring proof that you have completed the assignment on time. Your options are:

o  Put the assignment on a disk. I will keep this until you can print a black copy.

o  Email the assignment to me.

o  Write out the assignment by hand.
