Introduction

Bullying is defined as "unwanted negative behaviour, verbal, psychological or physical conducted by an individual or group against another person (or persons) and which is repeated over time"

Bullying, harassment or any form of discrimination, is immoral and can be unlawful because it interferes with the right of a person to feel safe and valued as a member of a community.It is an intimidation of weaker person. It is the process of intimidating or mistreating somebody weaker or in a more vulnerable situation. It is a form of aggressive behavior, which may manifest as abusive treatment, the use of force or coercion to affect others.

OBJECTIVES

Pagangan Elementary School Anti-Bullying Policies aims to:

  1. Guide teachers, administrator, school personnel especially pupils to work harmoniously with others upholding the dignity and value of every individual.
  2. Educate pupils, parents, teachers, school personnel and stakeholders on the dynamics of bullying and anti-bullying policies of the school.
  3. Alleviate and prevent cases of bullying in the school through effective implementation of Anti-Bullying Policy.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

  1. Bullying-refers to any severe, or repeated use by one or more students of a written, verbal or a physical act or any combination thereof.
  2. Bully- refers to a student who commits acts of bullying
  3. Bullied- refers to a victim or to any students who experiences the acts of bullying or retaliation
  4. Retaliation- refers to any act against a person who reports bullying, who provides information during an investigation of bullying or who is a witness to or has reliable information out bullying.

OUR SCHOOL POLICIES

It is strictly prohibited for PES pupils to do any forms or nature of bullying to wit:

Bullying is one of the major offences as stated on the school policies on discipline

Sanctions are:

1st Offense- Warning, Conference with Parent, Adviser, Guidance Coordinator

2nd Offense-Community service with parent consent

3rd Offense- Referral to the school head, and child protection committee
