TOPIC: College Forward

Attention College Forward Seniors -- College Forward classes start tonight! Meet your new CoFo Coach, Anthony, in room 219 after school. Remember to sign up for the late bus if you need it!

TOPIC: Freshmen Student Council elected representative candidates

Freshmen Student Council elected representative candidates: There is a brief meeting right after school in room 207 today. If you have not yet turned in your packet, please do so.

TOPIC: National Honor Society

Attention current NHS members - we will have our first meeting on Thursday, September 5th in room 424. You may attend either the morning meeting at 8:20 or the afternoon meeting at 3:50. Please plan to attend one of these meetings. If you have questions please see Mrs. Kramer or Mrs. Fischer. Spread the word.

TOPIC: Patriot Flag Runners

The EVHS Varsity Cheerleaders are looking for dedicated Patriots to run the flags during the Varsity Football games. If you are interested please pick up an application today at lunch at the diamond.

TOPIC: Student Parking

Students that are parking on campus MUST purchase and appropriately display a parking sticker on their vehicle. These cost $25 and are available from Mrs. Diane Perez each day at the front office. Paperwork must be signed by a parent, as well. Beginning this week, warnings will be issued leading up to possible booting of the vehicle and towing away your vehicle at your own cost.

Also - All GHS students attending classes at East View are required to park in student parking behind the school building. The parking spaces in the front of the building are for visitor and staff parking, only. Thank you for following parking lot procedures.

TOPIC: Driver Ed

Driver Ed will start Sept. 9th. AM & PM classes are available. AM classes are from 7-8AM Monday through Thursday. PM classes are from 4:15-6:15PM Monday through Thursday. To sign up, please email Mr. Swain at .

All students with permits, and want to do the driving part of driver ed, also contact Mr. Swain at GHS.

TOPIC: Senior Service Project

This week is the last week to sign up to participate in the senior service white cord program. If you would like to sign up to complete the 50 hours of community service which will culminate in wearing a white cord with your graduation regalia, go to the EVHS website and print out the requirements and notice of intent. You and your parents sign the form and you return it to Mrs. Scholtz or Mrs. Ray in the English hall. If you do not sign up by September 6, you will not be eligible for the white cord.

TOPIC: Yearbooks

Yearbooks are on sale now! Right now you can order your 2014 yearbook for only $45. After October 31st the price of the book will be raised. Come by Ms. Gocken's room, room 128, to pick up an order form for your yearbook. Seniors can also get an order form for a personalized senior ad, it's a great way to celebrate and remember your final year as an East View Patriot.

TOPIC: Patriot Tennis

The Patriot Tennis team is looking for capable team managers for the 2013-14 year. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a manager, please see Coach Kurnik.

TOPIC: HOSA Meeting

The 1st HOSA (Health Science Students of America) meeting of the year will be Wed. Sept. 11, 2013at 8:10 am in the Health Science Lab, Room 319.

Any questions talk with Mrs. Killen in room 321 or Mrs. Prewit in room 338. One of the service projects is the blood drive in Oct. at EVHS

TOPIC: Cross Country

Our next XC meet will be Friday, September 6th at Waco Midway. We are still accepting runners, if anyone else is interested. We are having around 40 athletes on a daily basis each morning! Please see Coach Roberts!

TOPIC: Softball

There is a mandatory meeting for anyone wanting to play softball this year. It will be Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30PM in the East View library. The student athlete and a parent/guardian must attend for important information! If you have any questions, please see Coach Roberts.

Looking for service hours or just want to help the kids in Georgetown who need it? Join The Locker! The Locker will meet THIS Wednesday after school in Mr. Oakes’s office, room A 6. Join us for fundraising ideas and nominations for the first ever Locker board of students!
