Description of object:

The object on the background context of the history of the East and the Caucasus examines the relevance of the problem of Azerbaijan's history, milestones, and important events, political, military, ideological, cultural, demographic and ethnic processes. Through parallels and comparisons of various historical events occurring at different stages of history, the students formed the ability to make logical conclusions.
The objectives of the subject:

1. In order to understand the history of the Fatherland to develop thinking and analytical
ability
2. Generate students' patriotism, tolerance
3. Through discussions to explain difficult issues on the history of Azerbaijan
4. To generate in students the ability to properly assess the historical events, draw correct conclusions
5. Show the influence of historical events, the importance of practical steps
on human and society as a whole
6. To develop in students the habit of written and oral communication, the habit of spending debates, dialogues, and the ability to search and work with the group.

The methodology of the subject:
On this subject the basic teaching materials are lectures, discussions, lectures, specialist projects implemented in the form of commands, criticism and analysis of these materials, taken from various international newspapers and websites. Prior to each lesson the student should read all the materials and texts, the teacher asked.
Policy of the lesson:
Failure to attend class. For non-attendance at classes must be based on
Academic Calendar (AU). Academic Calendar is available in AU
catalog and website (
Academic unconscionable:
Without specifying the use of materials from the sources of internet sites
all this is considered plagiarism, fraud and breach of academic fairness. After that will be used stringent rules to establish order (detailed in the catalog and Web site AU).
Assessing the teacher and the subject:
Students through an anonymous survey and through student-pool at the end of the semester is the student and teacher evaluation. This is an important and open, transparent process.
Attendance:
Pays great attention to attendance on the subject of the history of Azerbaijan. In this matter, it seems the teacher did not ask. If a student is late to class for 5 minutes, put absent (ab), it is considered absenteeism and affects the final evaluation. For non-attendance as valid reasons are the following: 1) disease (need help of a doctor), 2) accident in the family 3) religious holidays. If the student does not come to practice because of the demands at work, it is not considered a valid reason. Valid permit should not be too much. Limit passes in the subjects was 30% (if the workshop in week 1 times, then 2 (ab.). If in a week 2 times, then 4 (ab.). If in a week 3 times, then (ab.)). If you pass will have more impact on the end points (if the subject is held once a week, each No. Deducted 2 points if the classes 2 times a week, each No. Deducted 1 point if sessions per week 3 times, then for each absent 1 point). If a student wants to get out of class early, or late for a lesson, or do not come to class, the student must advance to say about this teacher. The teacher is not obliged to inform the student if the student was not in class. You should rely on their e-mail or classmates. If a student is not able to come to the exam, you should be forewarned of the student. If a student is not pre-warning the teacher, then for the exam the student is put 0 points.

Rules of conduct (rules of etiquette in the audience):
Extracurricular conversations in the classroom for students to listen to interfere with the lesson. Other students listen to the lesson. Other students should be treated with respect.
Inattention: During the sessions to read other books, newspapers, work on the computer can not. Notes should do with hands. At any time the teacher can ask a question, and therefore students should be careful. This helps students understand the subject. All mobile phones
must be turned off. Otherwise, it leads to loss of ball fishing and on this day a student loses the right to attend classes.
Jobs policy
If a student let’s work late, it will not be accepted. In this regard No apologies are not accepted.
Additional examinations:
In addition to the examination on the subject of further tests are not conducted after the final exam before the exam, or no projects at inflated scores are not conducted.
Presentations: If the presentation did not take place, additional presentations are conducted.
Form for autobiography of students. Requires all students to the second lesson for this item fill out the form and pass the instructor. These need to glue one photograph. The main requirements of the subject.
Exam. On the subject of examination will be held 2 times (midterm 20%, final 40%).

Cases critical (given on the initiative of instructors) The materials of international newspapers and the Internet to the States in the territory of Azerbaijan, the history of the area, museums, towers, on the history of the fatherland, culture, history of personalities on the map of the state. During the semester, each student should prepare one article (critical analysis) on the history of Azerbaijan; the materials should be taken from international newspapers or the Internet. If these articles will be devoted to articles which criticized Azerbaijan or show bias towards Azerbaijan will be even better. In addition, at the beginning of the semester the teacher gives each student a task, an investigation of some state on the territory of Azerbaijan. The presentation is conducted when the work will be ready. Each student should speak to a group in 3 minutes. Within 3 minutes, the student must meet, and it affects the scores. During the semester, each student prepares 2 cases. Each case is assessed 0-5 score.

Protecting and discussion, a report on the essay. During the semester the student for
protection and provides a discussion of the work on the essay. An essay is a small study or small thesis; this forms the ability of students to investigate. A written assignment is written (14 font, spacing 2, 3-4 leaf). Essays must be turned in before the final exam. During the presentation, students should quietly hear, or say if the teacher can hold discussions. The quality of the essay depends on the number of facts, at the same time depends on the critical approach. Opinion is estimated to 10 points (2.5 points for technical performance, 2.5 points for the content, 2,5 points for the approach to the subject; 2.5 points for the presentation of the topic and the quality of presentation).

Otherassignments: The teacher may ask students homework to participate actively in the class.
Specials notes. The student who participated in all classes and active in the classroom is allocated 10% (10 points) bonus.
