A regular meeting of the Thomasboro Community Consolidated School District #130 was held

July 19, 2016 in room 104 at Thomasboro Grade School.

The following people answered to roll call: Jane Sprandel, William Wilken, Tom Henkelman, and Karen Morgan. Erin VanHorn, Doug Mennenga and Derek Wolken were absent. Others present were Bonnie McArthur—Superintendent, Elizabeth Acton--Principal, Katherine Bartell—Recording Clerk of the Board, Jennifer Bohlmann—Bookkeeper, Kim Schlosser—Teacher.

NEEDS ASSESSMENT RESULTS

There wasn’t much change from last year’s needs assessment the families filled out at the end of the year. The survey needs to be revamped due to new use of technologies.

BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS/HEALTH LIFE SAFETY IMPROVEMENS

A new Fire Alarm System has been installed. There is only one item left on the Health Life Safety list. The Water Heaters in the boiler room need to be removed or capped or hooked back up.

BOARD/SUPERINTENDENT COMMENTS

Registration for K thru 8th grades for the school year 2016-2017 was held July 12, 2016 at the school. A total of 155 students were registered.

PTO forms for fundraising will be presented at the August Board meeting.

The picnic for the staff families and Board Members families was a success. It was suggested by Member Sprandel that we as a School Board should recognize teachers at monthly community meetings. Also to recognize students grades Kindergarten thru 3rd grade.
