BUPA MANCHESTER 10K RUN – SUNDAY 18 MAY
I just wanted to say a massive Thank You to friends and colleagues for their support and sponsorship of myself and two very good friends, (Tracey Jackson and Cathy Stafford) who took part in the above event to raise funds for “Families of Ocean Ward”
“Families of Ocean Ward” is a registered charity (Charity reg no. 1145013)
which is very close to my heart and that of my family.
This charity supports family and friends of children, aged from newborn right up to 17 years of age, who spend time on E1 Ocean Ward at Southampton Hospital. E1 looks after children pre and post heart surgery and those who might need ongoing nursing and care due to conditions related to their individual condition, and there are many!
Most of you will know that my grandson was transferred to E1 Ocean Ward at 3 days old and underwent complex and serious heart surgery at 9 days old, he was quite poorly and without the support of E1 I am not sure how we would have coped. Lucas was diagnosed with “Truncus Arteriosus” – described by the British Heart Foundation as a rare, serious and complex heart condition.
In total, including Just Giving pages and sponsorship forms we have raised a total of £2516.42 I really can’t thank you all enough; I am absolutely overwhelmed by your generosity.
