Call To Order:

The March 11, 2014 was called to order at 2:34 pm.

Approval of Agenda:

Table ENGL P130, ENGL P131, English AA-T per email from Susan Regier; table PSYC P120 per email request from James Thompson; table INFS P100 per Tim Brown.

Motion: To approve the March 11, 2014 agenda with modifications.

Motion: To approve the February 25, 2014 minutes.

Old Business:

1.  ENGL P130-Table-email request from Susan Regier.

2.  ENGL P131- Table-email request from Susan Regier.

3.  English AA-T- Table-email request from Susan Regier.

4.  ETHN P120

Added level 1 English placement prerequisite and removed pass/no pass grading option. The course meets the PC GE Social/Behavioral Science and Multicultural requirement. The text and SLOs were updated.

Motion: To approve ETHN P120 (Summer 2015).

5.  INFS P00-Table Tim Brown.

6.  POLS P101

Added level 2 English placement prerequisite and made minor catalog description changes. The textbook and SLOs were updated.

7.  SOCI P140

Karen Bishop will be working on a Sociology transfer degree. This new course applies as elective units to the Social Science degree. This course meets the PC GE Social/Behavioral Science and the PC GE Multicultural Studies areas. The course will be submitted for CSU GE, CID, and IGETC GE. The Social Science will submit the Liberal Arts Major to curriculum to include the new course. Students who have taken SOCI P127 can also take this course.

Motion: To approve SOCI P140 (Summer 2015).

8.  SOCI P160

Karen Bishop will be working on a Sociology transfer degree. This new course applies as elective units to the Social Science degree. This course meets the PC GE Social/Behavioral Science area. The course will be submitted for CSU GE, CID, and IGETC GE.

New Business:

1.  MATH AS-T

Math P206 increased units from 4 to 5 beginning summer 2014. The increase will impact the required major units.

Motion: To approve MATH AS-T (Summer 2014).

2.  PSYC P120-Move to New Business at the next curriculum meeting.

Other:

1.  Report:

a.  CLC-No discussion.

b.  META-Governet has made changes in their organization. The district should be hearing from Governet in about a week on the status of Meta.

c.  Senate-No discussion.

2.  CID submission/status-Miles updates/reviews the list about every two weeks.

3.  GE-Graduation requirements-Miles said there was some discussion about the District Board Policy regarding PHED/HLED. The Board policy does not include PHED/HLED in the GE requirement. Discussion is continuing at the District.
