How long have you been in business?
I began balloon twisting in July of 2012 and love continually learning new skills to improve my craft. Along with being a balloon artist, I also have an education degree and teaching license in WI and MN and work with children and families on a regular basis.
What type of events have you worked for?
Festivals, town celebrations, birthday parties, libraries, book fairs, fundraisers, expos, weddings, church events, music concerts, sporting events, races and awareness walks, mall promotions, restaurants, open houses, grand openings,private parties and customer appreciation events.
How much time do you devote to your business?
Conservatively speaking, I can expect to put in at least a rate of 4-5 hrs for every hour I am performing at an event. This time includes learning new designs, professional development, marketing, creating contracts, communicating with clients, keeping records, filing taxes, and setup prep.
What are your rates?
Storefront/Event Décor (arches, columns, custom pieces, etc. -includes helium if required) $0.50/mile, $10/linear foot, + 25% for optional Hi-Float Treatment
Twisting Entertainment
$0.50/mile, $150 – 1st hr, $100 – any additional hr
Charities and families are charged $0.50/mile, $75/hr performing. Restaurants are offered reduced rates due to the week to week consistency.
Special Deliveries – Case by case basis, I’m always open to a consultation
How many people can you serve during your twisting entertainment service?
I set myself apart from other balloon artists as I do not do any 1 balloon designs. Most of my designs range from 3-6 balloons. My philosophy is if people are waiting for an extended period of time they deserve to have a great design. I’d much rather give out great designs to your guests rather than become a “machine” that only does the simplest designs, even if that means I’m reaching less people. Of course, while I’m working with your guests I aim to entertain others in line and in the area and develop positive relationships. I am a great source of crowd control as many people stay to watch me and take pictures of my work.
What types of services do you offer?
Most balloon artists are divided into 2 categories – twisting entertainers and balloon décor. I have the ability to do both twisting entertainment and décor.I have done both services formany events, companies, individuals, and organizations. Other services include balloon drops, workshops, and I am a helium provider for your event needs. I do offer party favors/gifts as well, these examples can be found through my facebook business page. For special events and holidays I can deliver a specialized piece to your significant other, parent, child, or friend. I have done a few balloon shows for Christian organizations and libraries.
Along with my own business, I am always looking out for your events’ best interest and can direct you to other entertainment and event specialists including photographers, face painters, magicians, storytellers, musicians, pyrotechnicians, etc. Ask for my list of event specialists to minimize your own headaches in planning your event.
How far will you travel to an event?
There is no limit to how far I will travel but the further I have to travel, the higher the fee will be for my client. Currently, I have traveled to 29 different cities in MN, WI and IA.
How far in advance do you take bookings?
I will book events up to 1 year in advance but do give priority to events that have worked with me from previous years. Many of my events are always the same weekend or date of the month. Ex – Always the 3rd full weekend of July. With these types of events I always hold the date for them and ask to confirm if another client inquires about that day.
Do you have business insurance?
Yes, I am fully insured through Specialty Insurance Agency of New Richmond, WI.
How long will you perform on each day?
I am willing to perform as many hours as my clients need me each day. I do ask for a ½ hour break every 4 hrs of which the time is not charged for my clients.
Do you dress up as a clown as well?
NO, I have to admit I’m a little scared of them too. My outfit consists of an embroidered polo with my company logo.
