LOOK WHO’S BUZZING ABOUT MIANNA WICK!

~ Mianna Wick’s determination is like Danica Patrick—she is super determined, super dedicated, and doesn’t put up with any BS in a male dominated world, in a professional sport where women make up 2% out of 100. Mianna is very sound ontrack and applies herself equally sound offtrack. She understands the importance of both.

~ The thing I like about Mianna Wick is her drive and passion for the sport, and her motivation to move up the racing ladder. Plus, she is marketable. Her having Loophole Racingwork with her is key because they have been there and done that.(Loophole Racing of Colorado is Paul Dallenbach’s crew, co-owned by David Hoffpauir, who worked for Michael and Mario Andretti).

~Every once in a while you come across someone like Mianna Wick, someone that's got more natural god-given talent, at such a young age, than most drivers that I've seen over many years/many drivers.”

~ Mianna Wick is very methodical in her process. Instead of going out there and just going for it and focusing on ‘speed,’ she goes out there and processes what she is doing and then lets the speed come to her. You can win or you can crash and she looks at the overall race—the big picture—rather than being reckless. She’s determined, and consistent on the track. Mianna is the package deal.

~I saw Jeff Gordon when he was racing quarter-midgets in Vallejo, Calif, when he was probably 5 or 6 years old at the time. When you're around racing, you can spot that natural born talent—it's hard to explain but you see it, you know it. Mianna Wick reminds me of this talent with hitting her marks; turns; brake points; consistency; reflexes; incline to 'know before something happens'; her situational awareness, and making those right decisions on the track. Mianna Wick is someone to watch out for.

~ “The first time I saw Mianna Wick getting in the car, she exuded confidence; she was very composed—not nervous—and set a goal for that race. Driving, she was not intimidated by other drivers; not afraid to ‘stick her nose in there.’ She has consistency and hits her mark each lap—a key to smooth, fast driving—and she was able to stay side by side and pass with confidence.

~ Much like watching kids in baseball, one in 100 can hit the hanging curve ball, or in football one can throw a spiral in 50 years. Racing is much like that—you’re looking for technique and natural ability, including how well they are at ‘situational awareness’; if they are able to hit the turn in apex as well as turn out on each corner. You look to see if they’re able to run in a pack, side by side; if they are consistent each lap and carry speed. Other traits are if they’re smooth; not moving the steering wheel much, and taking the proper line each lap. Also, are they reacting or are they making impulse judgments? Because in racing, if you have to think about your next move it’s too late—it must be done by instinct. Mianna Wick has that talent. She has the ability to someday make a big league career. If she continues on the pace she is atshe will make the Verizons.

About Mianna Wick Racing:

Mianna Wickhas been racing since 2000, which two and a half of those have been in Formula cars. Currently, she is a team driver for the Loophole Racing Team, with co-owner and crew chief David Hoffpauir, who worked for Michael and Mario Andretti in the late 1980s to early ‘90s, and co-owner/consultant Bud Hoffpauir.

Last year, the now 19-year-old championed the SCCA Freedom Sprint Race 2, taking first place, and she won second in the SCCA Freedom Sprint Race 1, both in her Formula Mazda. In 2014, Wick drove an Indy Car; was the selected driver of David Hoffpauir to drive for his team, Loophole Racing, and she netted both the top spot in the SCCA Labor-day Daze race 1 and the SCCA Labor-day Daze race 2, once again while driving her Formula Mazda.

Racing is a huge part of Wick’s life, from late night training to supporting sponsors, including recently NAPA (providing paint for her Indy car), and Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies, who joined forces with Mianna Wick Racing for the 2016 race season. This May, Wick is off to the Indy 500 with Loophole Racing and in July, racing in Road America’s Hawk race is on her checklist.

“Racing is believing you can push yourself just a little bit harder each time out, straining to achieve your best. It means improving your skill, technique, and self-state with every step you take—never settling for second best.” ~ Living by Faith,Mianna Wick
