Position Statement
Central District Delegate
Dennise Krencicki
I am asking for your support of my nomination for election as a Delegate for the 2017 – 2019House of Delegates.
I have been fortunate to have been a delegate to the HOD for nearly 24 years, including four years as Chief Delegate. The governance of APTA as well as our profession has become a passion for me and I am most anxious to continue to participate in the HOD as the highest policy making body of our association. I believe I can continue to be of service to the membership in this position for a number of reasons.
First, I can bring a historical perspective to the delegates’ deliberations. As many delegates know, issues in the HOD have are often revisited in subsequent years. I feel I can bring informationon previous actions taken by the HOD to the newer delegates for consideration in makingwell informed decisions.
My background in leadership positions in the APTA NJ, including President and Chief Delegate, as well as my participation as a physical therapist member of the NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, has prepared me well to have a broad understanding of the issues facing our profession and to be in a position to discuss them with a full understanding of their consequences and outcomes on our profession. I previously chaired the Sunset Committee which began the process of updating our practice act. Keeping our practice current is a necessary element to maintaining and improving our ability to participate and collaborate fully as an important member of the health care team and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this process.
Consensus building is a vital aspect to success in obtaining support for motions we wish to have passed. I believe that I have demonstrated ability during my years in the HOD to negotiate effectively with delegates from other states and to promote the ideas and positions of NJ in an effective manner.
The direction the HOD sets for our profession will have lasting effects on our practice as physical therapy professionals. Health care as a whole is undergoing significant change which will impact our profession. I would welcome the ability to be a part of the HOD as it sets the direction of our profession and I ask for your support.
Thank you.
