Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership

An accredited, nontraditional bachelor degree program designed specifically for returning adult students.

Unique featuresand benefits:

  • The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership Program is 13 months long in the classroom and 18 months long online. It includes the necessary courses and hours to complete a major in Health Care Leadership at National-Louis University.
  • The program offered in the classroom meets one night per week.
  • The program offered online allows the student access 24/7 to the class.
  • The student registers once for the entire program locking in the tuition.
  • While in the program, you a full-time student, which is beneficial if filing for financial aid.
  • The books are mailed by term to the student. Tuition includes the cost of the books.
  • Only the program (48 quarter hours) has to be taken at National-Louis University. General education and elective credits for the degree can be completed at any accredited college or university, through CLEP or DANTES exams, as well as credit for foreign language through the New York University proficiency exam.
  • National-Louis University does provide, however, discounted Focus classes specifically for students who prefer to complete any additional degree requirements at NLU. Also, at National-Louis University, credit through life experiences is accepted by way of the portfolio option as well as credit by proficiency.

Admission Requirements:

  • The minimum of two years of transferable college credits (90 quarter hours/60 semester hours) to begin in the program.
  • The student either works in a health care field and/or has licensure, certification, registration, in a health care profession.

Degree Requirements:

  • 180 quarter hours (120 semester hours) is required for the degree.

Included in this is:

48 quarter hours (32 semester hours) for the HCL major

60 quarter hours (40 semester hours) general education credit

72 quarter hours (48 semester hours) elective credit

Where Is the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership Program Offered?

The Bachelor of Science in Health Care Leadership Program is offered on all five of National-Louis University’s Illinois Campuses, Chicago, Wheeling, North Shore, Lisle, and Elgin. It is also offered online.

It has also been offered on-site at several hospitals, including Resurrection Medical Center, Our Lady of the Resurrection MedicalCenter, St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital,St. Francis Hospital, Holy Family Medical Center, Delnor Hospital, Lutheran General Hospital, and Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Can I Receive Financial Aid for the Program?

Yes. You are considered a full-time student while in the program.

You must be fully admitted and have filed a FAFSA form to receive it.
