The staff is professional, collaborative and dedicated to delivering highly effective teaching and learning programs supported by the school’s vision of a developing successful life-long learners. The school is supported by Reading Recovery and is implementing Literacy, Language and Learning Program (L3) for K-2. Expressionsof Interest are being called for a full time, Learning and Support Teacher position at Auburn Public School for Terms 1-4 2017.

Position Information:
This full time Learning and Support position will provide direct and timely specialist assistance to studentswith additional needs, in regular classes and their teachers.
Position Criteria:
Demonstrated capacity to:
- plan, implement, model,monitor and evaluate personalised adjustments for learning, where required, with the classroom teacher, student and/or parent or carer.
- provide direct support with additional learning and support needs through a range of strategies (including direct instruction, delivery of adjusted learning programs, assessment and monitoring progress) including in the areas of social integration, language and communication, literacy, numeracy and behaviour. This may include confirmed disabilities.
- provide professional specialist advice and assistance regarding students with additional needs to the school’s learning and support team
- assist with professional learning for class and school learning support officers within theschool and the local network of schools, where appropriate.
