Collaborative projects
2012- Current: Antimicrobial molecules to counter multidrug resistant pathogens. Swedish research link in collaboration with biotechnology department, Lund University, Sweden
2011 – Current: Enhanced solar powered algal-bacterial sustainable wastewater treatment. This project supported by Cairo University under the annual scientific research funding program.
2004– 2006: Enhanced biodegradation of persistent organic pollutant, Environmental biotechnology and bioremediation. International collaboration between Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University and Biotechnology department, Lund University, Sweden. This project was supported by funds from SIDA (the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency) administrated by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskaprهdet) under the SIDA-MENA research link program (project # 2002-6971).
2005 – 2007: Novel biological remediation process combined with solar irradiation for cost – efficient removal of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This project was supported by the framework of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology’s National Strategy for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Program (project # GBENV-003-003-011)
2007 – 2010: Process development for the industrial production of rifamycin B to the pre-pilot/pilot level. This project was supported by the framework of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology’s National Strategy for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Program (Contract agreement #77).
2007- Current: Food borne diseases.This project was supported between Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University andNorthumbria University, UK.
August 2008: Attended the LRQA ISO 22000 lead auditor course
