Sixty percent of time--supervision of the three psychologists, one crisis worker, and one secretary assigned to Jackson Correctional Institution's Psychological Services Unit. Development, revision, and implementation of policies and procedures related to the provision of psychological and psychiatric services within the institution. Implementation and revision of a computerized record-keeping system for the Psychological Services Unit. Selection and monitoring of independent contractors who provide sex offender and domestic abuse group treatment to inmates. Serve on various department-wide committees and working groups to develop mental health policies and procedures for general implementation. Provide training to other mental health professionals in the administration and evaluation of the Hare Psycopathy Checklist-Revised. Twenty percent of time--coordination of services among all departments involved in providing psychological crisis intervention, behavior management, psychiatric care, and group counseling (including substance abuse counseling) to inmates. Service on a number of committees to set policy and oversee the functions, including administrative functions, of the institution. Provide consultation to the Warden on psychological and psychiatric issues, as they pertain to the functioning of the institution, in particular, and corrections, in general. Periodically serve as the administrative duty officer in charge of Jackson Correctional Institution, in the Warden’s absence. Twenty percent of time--performance of psychological assessments of inmates, including neuropsychological assessment, evaluations of suitability for psychotherapy, and forensic evaluations of suitability for commitment under Chapter 980 of Wisconsin Statutes (i.e., the “Sexually Violent Persons” law). Provision of crisis counseling, referral, and group (primarily sex offender and anger management) treatment services to inmates. The inmate population of Jackson Correctional Institution is ethnically and racially diverse, and includes individuals with variety of mental disorders and treatment needs.

Group Health Cooperative is a well established health maintenance organization that
operates in the Puget Sound Area of Washington. My experience there consists of training in individual and group psychotherapy for a wide variety of mental disorders, including major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, simple phobia, social phobia, anger dyscontrol, adjustment problems, and interpersonal difficulties. The emphasis is on performing brief interventions using a cognitive-behavioral therapy model. Other responsibilities include client education, making appropriate referrals for services (e.g., psychiatric evaluations), participating in a multidisciplinary team, and reporting findings and therapeutic progress to other Group Health medical personnel who treat my clients.
