Fact Sheet - Advertising Volunteer Roles in Southwark

  1. There are three free, simple and effective ways to advertise volunteer roles online in Southwark. For all these sites, you will have to register as suggested below.

/ Register a profile using “Sign Up”. A verification email will be sent to your email account. Once verified, you can then create your organisation by clicking “Got it Lets Go” button at the very bottom of the “Finding Volunteers” Page.
team.london.gov.uk / Register your organisation by clicking the REGISTER button at the top right hand side of the home page and then clicking “Register my Organisation”. Team London need to verify your organisation so it is not immediate like do-it. However, once registered you can upload new opportunities pre verification.
www.gumtree.com/ / Create a login for yourself by clicking the LOGIN button at the top of the page. Once registered a verification email will be sent to your email account. Once verified, you can then post job ads. Use the charity/volunteer section.

– depending on the size of your organisation advertising roles is free. Also good for sourcing more skilled volunteers.

  1. Community Southwark have a variety of ways to promote your roles to the Southwark community:
  • Keeping Up with Southwark Bulletin – goes out monthly to all our members
  • Jobs section
  • Volunteering in Southwark eBulletin – reaches over 3000 potential volunteers
  • At our 1-2-1 Volunteering Advice Appointments – we keep on hand in our Volunteer Opportunities folder current roles local groups and organisations are looking to recruit for. Just email us your role description and we will do the rest.
  • Our Volunteer Outreach sessions happen across the borough on a weekly basis. We visit Peckham, Canada Water and Newington Temporary libraries and promote volunteering to the public. If you want to come along and be part of the session contact

  • Local newspapers often advertising volunteering opportunities for free
  • Noticeboards in Supermarkets, Libraries, Leisure Centres
