2018 Ozaukee County Fair Power Wheels Demolition Derby

This event is supposed to be FUN for the kids, parents; PLEASE don’t ruin it for them! Judges can rule that children won’t participate if there are modifications to the car more than those allowed that are stated below!

  1. The event will be Sunday, August 5, 2018, at approximately 2 PM (between the 12 pm and 4 pm Monster truck shows). The event will take place in front of the Grandstands, grass east side of the track.

  1. There will be two classes: 4-7-year-olds and 8-11-year-olds.

In each heat, balloons will be attached to the front and rear of the vehicle. The last child with at least one balloon remaining wins their heat.

  1. PRIZES: Each participating child will receive a small prize for participating and are invited to attend the Monster Truck Show on August 5that 12 PM or 4 PM show. Each participating child would be reimbursed for their Monster Truck Show Ticket(Family members who would view the Monster Truck Show with them must purchase all tickets at the Fair ticket window or online). In each age class, judges will award a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize, as well as a “Best of Show” trophy for the most creative decoration of a vehicle.

RULES

  1. ALL children participating in the derby MUST wear a protective helmet at all

times when in the event area. The helmet must fit the child correctly. Bicycle

helmets are sufficient.

  1. When choosing a power wheel for your child, please keep in mind that these

vehicles will be running into each other. Doors that open will need to be secured.

The power wheel will need to be the kind that your child sits in, not on, no

four wheelers, tractors, motorcycles, etc.

  1. The power wheel may have up to one 12-volt lawn mower battery. It cannot be

secured on the seat with the child.

  1. The power wheels are not to be operated before or after the event and must be

secured in a vehicle when not in use during the event. Anyone observed driving

one of the power wheels in the pits or around the fairgrounds will be asked to

leave. This is for the safety of your children!

  1. There is to be no added reinforcement for strength. We encourage decorations

and painting but keep the safety of other drivers in mind with your designs.

  1. Stock tires only, no screws in tires, chains, etc. Tires may be duct taped to prevent

cracking.

  1. No Passengers are permitted on the vehicle.
  2. The parent must retrieve the power wheel immediately after the event and secured back in your vehicle.

Demolition derby crew will be on scene to assist any children during the event.

All entrants must be registered by July 23, 2018. Any entries received postmarked after this date WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

**Wagons will be placed at the north parking lot and south parking to place your power wheel on (with adults’ safeguarding them). Normal parking rates apply to attend the fair. Wagons will be at drop locations from 11:00am – 1:00pm early drop off will be located at the north/west corner of the pit area. Entrants free wristbands and vehicle collection ends at 1 pm **
