A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of James Paul Proctor.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to James Paul Proctor, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, James Paul Proctor was born on December 18, 1943, a native of Butler County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Oldham County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 28, 2005; and

WHEREAS, James Paul Proctor was the loving son of the late James Lee and Hazel Proctor, and he also was preceded in death by an infant son, Jay Proctor; he was the devoted husband of Sharon Proctor; he was the loving father of a daughter, Jennifer Proctor of La Grange, and he was the loving father of two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Sherri Proctor of Russellville and Lee and Lorie Proctor of Auburn; he was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren; and he also leaves behind a loving brother, Ronnie Proctor of Epley Station; and

WHEREAS, James Paul Proctor served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Army; and

WHEREAS, James Paul Proctor graduated from the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, and he was a former co-owner of Wilkins-Proctor Funeral Home from 1969 to 1976; he was a former deacon of the First Baptist Church in Russellville, and he was a former member of the Russellville Jaycees; and

WHEREAS, James Paul Proctor was a loyal member of the Republican Party; he was a former chairman of the Logan County Republican Party and a former chairman of the Oldham County Republican Party, and he also served on the executive board of the Republican State Central Committee; and he was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels; and

WHEREAS, the passing of James Paul Proctor has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of James Paul Proctor, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of James Paul Proctor.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit five copies of this Resolution to Mrs. Sharon Proctor, 525 West Madison Street, La Grange, Kentucky 40031-1041.
