At the Awarding Ceremony
Dubai – December 5, 2006
I am honored to have this opportunity to be here, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, on this auspicious occasion, and prestigious presence. By recognizing examples of those who made greatest strides in management, H.H. honors all managers throughout the Arab World.
Franklin Roosevelt when told that he led the war to success, he corrected the record by saying “I managed the war to success”. H.H. is telling us, by so awarding excellence in management, that the tone is set for managing progress in the Arab World to success through managerial leadership by example.
The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) is proud of the honor as of 2007 to become as of 2007 partners of the Mohammed Bin Rashed Al-Maktoum Award for Arab Management. Thank you infinitely Your Highness for granting us the opportunity to work with the prize coordinator and his competent team towards greater success.
There are many prizes in the Arab World which we profoundly respect and applaud. Yet, this is one that choose to partner with a professional organization for the continued development of the disciplines of the awarding processes in full apolitical openness, independence transparency and professionalism, thereby seeking excellence in its own management of its Management Awards.
Your Highness, we will endeavor to achieve your vision, under your guidance, to make these Awards global honors, following their great success regionally, no less than that of best acclaimed international prizes.
Distinguished winners, I envy you because I cannot join the competition, being a manager myself, due of independence constraints in view of my involvement in the awarding process, and because, even if I could join, I have no chance of winning amidst this excellence in the Arab World.
