COTILLION

The Cotillion sub committee presented the group with the newly printed Cotillion Posters. Each school received 10 posters. Diverse advertising methods were discussed to find the most effective way to advertise the event. The committee discussed ticket sales and distribution and how to go about selling tickets effectively as well.

TOPS

The TOPS sub committee has been attending the various variety shows and plays presented by the high schools within the Board. Publicity is just getting going. Even at this early date, organization of the show is going very smoothly.

CAREER FAIR

The committee discussed the PCHS Career Fair, proposed suggestions for next year and pointed out some of the elements which need to be addressed. In general, the committee was impressed by the event and recommended that in future, grade 10 students should be invited as well, in the hopes of demystifying CEGEP at an earlier stage. As well, there should be more publicity done within the schools so as to create more awareness among staff, students and parents. The date of the event was also discussed. Althoughthe November date may be unavoidable, the committee felt that if the Fair had been earlier in the year, before the CEGEP open houses, it may have been even more effective.

LBPSB WALK FOR MADD

It was decided that a sub committee should be formed with one representative from each school in order to provide an easy link between schools for better organization of a board-wide MADD walk. So far, the plan is to have each high school within the board participate, which will raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving. The event is planned for the Spring, although details have yet to be finalized.

POLICIES

Both the Video Surveillance policy and the Food and Nutrition policy were presented and briefly discussed at this meeting. Two sub committees have beenformed to analyze and discuss these two policies in order to bring recommendations to the CSC January meeting.

Respectfully submitted,

Hannah Quinn
