Lake Forest College VPN Installation for Windows

LIT has taken steps to tighten the security on our network. This was done to protect you and the College from unauthorized use of our network. As a result, you will now be required to supply a username and password to access to the wireless network using a connection method called VPN (Virtual Private Network).VPN will provide your connection to the network with an encrypted signal that cannot be intercepted or interfered with by anyone.Open access has been disabled; users will have to use the VPN client to connect wirelessly. This method may also be used to access academic subscription databases from an off-campus computer.

To enable your computer to access the network using VPN, the installation of a client software package is required. You will have to download this client only once. Once you have installed it on your computer, you will use it each time you want to connect to the College’s network from a laptop, or as a means of gaining access to the College’s academic subscription databases from off-campus.
