EXPECTATIONS
· Practice
o Be on time
o Wear appropriate attire (baseball pants, Stockbridge shirt of some kind no other schools (you may wear travel team gear ), everyone must have a sleeve on their throwing arm until you are given permission to not wear, Stockbridge baseball cap) and wear it correctly…no backwards or sideways!! Just baseball gear!! (Practice pants will be available for you on a limited basis if you need them)
o All player must wear long sleeves every day until told differently.
o Have all equipment (cleats, glove, bat) Do not borrow anyone’s stuff without asking first.
o Practice attendance is mandatory. If you are unable to attend, it is YOUR responsibility to tell a coach, NOT another players. If you miss practice and I am not aware of your excuse this will warrant punishment.
o Be focused on baseball only during practice. We will go fast and we will get things done. How long we practice is up to you. I do not plan for marathon practices, you determine that.
o You will have a job before and after practice, no one will leave nor will practice start until all duties are done. Everyone, including Seniors will be responsible during practice. Seniors are responsible and will be punished if these do not get done.
· Home Games
o No food of any kind in the dugout (unless medically excused) Seeds, drinks and gum are permitted.
o Players must remain in the dugout during the game
o Parents are not permitted in the dugout during games unless and only if son has been injured and it has been cleared by a coach.
o All game day preparatory jobs should be done and completed no later than 4:00
o During game play, conduct yourself in a manor exemplary to good sportsmanship (no swearing, mouthing, or throwing of equipment) This is a huge no and will be dealt with accordingly. Respect the game of baseball, your equipment, and peers.
o ALL players know the count and how many outs there are at all times (being on the bench is no excuse not to have your head in the game!)
o All players will have in-game and post-game responsibilities that will be posted once the season starts
o No one leaves until ALL jobs are done and completed. Seniors are responsible.
· Away Games
o Have all equipment ready and waiting at the designated place 5 minutes before bus departure time
o All players will wear their pullovers, hitting jackets or jerseys on the bus. We will look like a TEAM
o Act appropriately on the bus
o Upon arrival, quickly change shoes and begin stretching as a team
o We will not change into our pants in the visiting dugouts. Please do this prior to leaving or on the bus not in front of any females. Sliding Shorts should be worn and on when we depart.
o Make sure we have all equipment and the dugout is clean before leaving
· Additional Rules
o No jewelry can be worn at any time. This includes Phiten necklaces and bracelets and earrings!!
o Cell phones are to be placed on silent for practice and games. You are not permitted to use cell phones during practice or a game. Put them up, I do not want to see them during practice or a game.
o The use of tabacco is prohibited and will not be tolerated. This is against school policy.
**Failure to abide to the above expectations WILL result in disciplinary action.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
Offense Consequence
Tardiness & Missed Practice 1st offense – 5 poles (individual)
2nd offense – 10 poles (individual)
3rd offense – 1 game suspension
Missing/left behind equipment 5 poles (as a team) + 5 for Seniors
Failure to know outs/situation 5 poles (as a team)
Failure to do assigned job 5 poles (as a team) + 5 for Seniors
ISS 10 poles (individual)
OSS 1 game suspension
These are guidelines for discipline. Coaches reserve the right to institute punishment on a case by case basis.
Unsportsmanlike behavior will NOT be tolerated! (This includes profanity, taunting, arguing, fighting, and throwing equipment.) Any unsportsmanlike acts will lead to disciplinary action from me to be decided at the time of the action.
PARENTS
· Parents, please understand that you are the biggest supporters of not only your son, but the program as a whole. It is easy to get disgruntled, which in turn, can lead to badmouthing the program, coaches, or other players. Please refrain from talking bad about the program while in the stands, or anywhere on the premises of the facility. Negativity is the one killer to building a strong cohesive unit. Your sons look at how you act as a guide for how they should act. Please support your son, love him, and encourage him to work hard. If you have a question and would like a meeting, here is protocol:
A. All discussion should focus on INDIVIDUAL questions or concerns.
B. The performance and ability of other players will not be a subject of discussion. This is contrary to our team values of mutual respect and support.
C. Before leaving any meeting, be sure to clarify and summarize your thoughts and feelings. This will ensure that everyone involved has a clear understanding of the meeting’s outcome.
D. Do not attempt to confront a coach before or after practice or game. These are emotional times for coaches and parents. Meetings of this nature do not promote resolution and will not take place.
E. The following will not be discussed:
Team strategy
Play calling
Playing time
Team position
Other student athletes
· The concerned player should approach his immediate coach to schedule a time to discuss questions or concerns.
· If not happy with the meeting then the concerned player should set a meeting with the immediate coach and the Varsity Head Coach.
· If not happy with those results then the player along with his parents should e-mail the Tiger Coaching Staff to request a meeting.
PLAYER FEES
· All player fees will be paid!! A minimum of ½ of your player fees will be paid before the first game. Those that have not paid ½ will not dress or play.
· You will not be given your player gear until your fees are paid. If you are out of uniform and not dressed properly you will run. Once ½ is paid your hat and pants will be given to you.
· The remaining ½ must be paid before February 28th game or you will not dress.
· Any fees paid will not be refunded if dismissed from team for any reason. You may keep the items you have paid for.
· I am giving you a couple of opportunities to earn money to pay for your fees so there should be no excuses.
EXCUSED ABSENCES
· Excused absences from practice include but are not limited to: missing school due to illness, death in the family, etc. These absences do not result in additional running. I must have an e-mail, text, or written note discussing the absence.
EARNING A VARSITY LETTER
· Players must be academically and athletically eligible at the conclusion of the season.
· Players must be a member of the VARSITY team at the conclusion of the season.
· There is no amount of innings played that guarantees a varsity letter, coaches discretion will be used when the above requirements are met.

A. I will hustle all the time, no matter the situation, and play with intensity. This attitude represents the value of playing with enthusiasm. Fans, coaches, and teammates all recognize and appreciate the player who plays hard all the time.
B. I will do what it takes to be prepared both mentally and physically for practice and games. This attitude represents preparedness. Good players understand the value of going into a game with a plan of attack instead of just showing up and hoping to have a good game.
C. I will demonstrate good character during practice and games. This reflects the value of pride. How you conduct yourself is a direct reflection of yourself, your family, your school, and your community.
D. I can compete with anybody; no one is too good for me to beat. This reflects the value of competitiveness, which means playing to win every time. A true competitor believes in his ability to persevere and win the battle no matter what the situation is.
E. I will be a good teammate. This places the value on being a trustworthy teammate, which means taking care of yourself on and off the field, taking responsibility to make the big play to help your team win, being a supportive teammate when you are not in the game or when you are playing poorly, and not being a disruptive force in the dugout with either your mouth or your actions.
F. I will make sure my body and mind are rested so I can play at my best. Being properly rested for games and practices is essential for peak performance.
G. I will value the importance of education and work hard in school.
Education will take you farther than athletics. Make a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
H. I will count each day as a blessing, no matter how badly I may feel or play. Despite your problems, there are many people who would love to be in your shoes.
