•Provides: pregnancy test kits & supplies, referrals to community agencies and adoption services, maternity, baby clothing & diapers (donated items), formula (to help until a new mother begins receiving assistance from the WIC program), cribs, crib mattresses & sheets, and car seats.

•Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 - 11:30am; Thursday, 2pm – 4pm

Butler Homeless Initiative (BHI)

  • Provides services and referrals to assist persons who are homelessor on the verge of being homeless.
  • Mission is to provideaccess to shelter for those without basic shelter while actively seeking solutions to each individual root problem of homelessness toachievesuccessful independent living.
  • BHI Help Shelf. Distributes donated items (personal hygiene items, blankets, flash lights and batteries, etc.) to persons currently "homeless" or receiving homeless services in Butler County. A person can use the program only once every 30 days. Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:30 - 1:30pm.

  • Assists in establishing parentage and orders for child and medical support, locating noncustodial parents and their property, enforcing child and medical support orders, and modifying support orders as appropriate.
  • Assistance available to any family regardless of income or residency, who applies for our services.

  • Non-profit law firm that offers legal assistance programs for low income residents of Kansas who meet program requirements.
  • Services focused on low income elderly, disabled, and working poor in the community.
  • Housing issues: foreclosure legal assistance, advice on dealing with landlord and tenant disputes, and eviction support.

•Seeks to provide competent and caring services to women who may be pregnant, by providing information and education to encourage alternatives other than abortion.

  • A domestic violence/sexual assault shelter for women and children who have experienced abuse.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)

  • Helps low income households pay winter heating bills.
  • Gas, electricity, propane, and/or firewood (whether you own your home or rent).
