Association Profile:NSWTA is the peak body for Touch Football in NSW and is affiliated with the National body Touch Football Australia. The key focus of the organisation is to promote and provide opportunities for current and prospective members to participate in the sport of Touch Football.

Job Description:
Summary of Duties:The position of State Development Officer is responsible for the management and delivery of the New South Wales Touch Association development and education programs for playing, coaching, refereeing and selecting throughout the state. The Development Officer also assists Associations in the development of the sport of Touch, working with the Sport Manager, Development Manager, Events Manager, NSWTA State Development Officers and Regional Committees, to maximize opportunities for Touch to be a first choice sport among current and perspective participants. The position has a focus towards an important role in increasing both the quality and quantity of coaches, referees, selectors, administrators and players of all ages as well the quality of domestic competitions. The Development Officer will have involvement from grass root to elite level. This current role will have a strong focus in the SydneyInner West, Western, IllawarraNorthern West areas of NSW and will be responsible for the delivery of the sport within those boundaries.
Specific Duties:The Development Officer is responsible for:
  1. Coach, Referee, Selector and Player Development: In conjunction with the Regions, Affiliated Associations, Regional Academies, Department of Sport & Recreation, Educational Institutions and other relevant agencies,
  1. Plan, organise and administer the Level 0, 1 and 2 NCAS coaching seminar program;
  2. Plan, organise and administer the NCAS refereeing seminar program;
  3. Plan, organise and administer the NCAS selecting seminar program;
  4. Identify, develop and implement general coach education seminars & programs;
  5. Assist in managing the New South Wales Touch Association database of NCAS accredited coaches, referees and selectors;
  6. In consultation with the Sport Manager and Development Manager and in liaison with the Regions and Affiliated Associations identify, develop, produce and distribute appropriate resource materials for education and training;
  7. Coordinate special high performance coach education clinics and courses as required;
  8. Represent New South Wales Touch Association on various committees’ as directed by the General Manager;
  9. Conduct NCAS Courses as required;
  10. Manage any correspondence relevant to Development for and on behalf of New South Wales Touch Association;
  11. Actively liaise with coaches, referees and selectors via available mediums;
  12. Liaise with the State Technical Panel personnel and Committee’s to implement strategies consistent with the stated organisational objectives;
  13. Under the supervision and direction of the Sport Manager and Development Manager, act as Editor for the any Regional News publication.
  1. Player Development: In conjunction with The Regions, Affiliated Associations, Regional Academies, Department of Sport & Recreation, Educational Institutions and other relevant agencies,
  1. Manage the primary elements of the New South Wales Touch Association Talent Camps, including setting of dates and venues; appointment of coaching and administrative personnel; administer selection process and advice to invited players; in conjunction with the Business Operations Manager, manage payment system and reconciliation; administer required letters and wrap-up.
  2. Develop and manage a program of coaching clinics, including specialized clinics, school clinics throughout New South Wales, including but not limited to School Holiday Programs and elite player development camps;
  3. Investigate, Develop, Plan, Manage and Administer the NSW Regional programs, ensuring Touch is established as a first choice sport throughout all parts of New South Wales;
  1. Member Development: In conjunction with the General Manager, Sport Manager, Development Manager, Regions and Affiliated Associations,
  1. Manage programs and initiative designed to assist in the development of Touch at association level, including but not limited to promotional tours, state team/player visits, NSW Technical assistance and other special touch events;
  2. Assist Regions and affiliates develop their links with Sportzware Competition Management Program
  3. Assist the Regions and affiliates in adopting best practice for the sports delivery.
  4. Work with the Development Manager to deliver the Austouch Program.
  1. Officials & Volunteers: In conjunction with the Regions, Affiliated Associations, Regional Academies, Department of Sport & Recreation, Educational Institutions, Australian Touch Association and other relevant agencies,
  1. Manage initiative under the Austouch Program, Coaching, Selecting and Refereeing courses for and on behalf of New South Wales Touch Association;
  2. Identify possible Austouch Program leaders;
  1. General duties:
  1. Contribute to the New South Wales Touch Schools program and development. Ensuring strong linkages between the NSW Touch Association, Regions, Affiliated Associations and Educational institutions are maintained and developed;
  2. Contribute to the New South Wales strategic plans and funding submissions;
  3. Manage Development budgets for and on behalf of New South Wales Touch Association;
  4. Assist the Events Manager with the presentation and delivery of the NSW Touch Association Tournament Calendar;
  5. Any other duties as required by the General Manager/Sport Manager/Development Manager.
