Welcome to Bunnings Epsom

During the three sessions of the project you will ……source, taught, build, polish and complete your magazine rack

· The first session: Thursday, August 24th from 9.30-11.00am

· The second session: Thursday, August 31st from 1:30 -3pm

· The third session: Thursday, September 7th from 9.30-11.00am

Specimen Hill Primary School

In the three sessions at Bunnings Epsom this is what you will do:

· Listen, be instructed, source materials and talk safety

· Measure, cut, install

· Polish and prepare to take home

Occupational health & safety is important as well as your comfort.

So please:

· Wear your uniform with full covered in shoes (no toes or top of foot to be exposed)

· Bring and wear a name tag – your first name only

· Bring a pen and your Project Book

· Make sure you listen to all instructions and follow directions

· Bring a small snack to eat at the end of the sessions

You will be working with:

· Matt from Plumbing

· Janelle Activity Organiser

Mr Tanner from Specimen Hill Primary School will be working with you too.

We look forward to showing you a new experience at Bunnings Epsom helping you to develop your self confidence and learning new skills.

S4ession1

What will happen :

Matt will explain about copper, tools and the project, safety & PPE and the importance of each and incorporate into students everyday life skills.

What we will learn :

How to use PPE and tools for the job, measurements and how important and crucial they are for every job you do.

Time for a hot chocolate, a small snack (from home) and reflect on what you have seen/done

At least 3 things I discovered during the session:

What will happen :

Measure Cut and Assemble copper

What we will learn :

· How to use appropriate tools

· install fittings

· listening to instructions

· Being patient and waiting

Time for a hot chocolate, a small snack (from home) and reflect on what you have seen/done

At least 3 things I discovered during the session:

What will happen :

Finalise assembly of magazine rack, clean and polish.

What we will learn :

· A sense of achievement from completing a project.

· How to clean and polish copper

· Importance of clean and tidy
