MEETING MINUTES
November 19 - 20, 2008
The meeting was held at US Postal Service Headquarters, 475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington DC. All presentations can be downloaded from the MTAC website.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 noon by Susan Plonkey, Postal Chair. Susan Plonkey congratulated MTAC for winning the prestigious Partnership for Progress (PFP) award at the May 2008 National Postal Forum (NPF) in Anaheim, CA. Susan then showed everyone the framed photograph of the PFP award ceremony at the Anaheim Forum of the MTAC attendees and the Postmaster General – and announced that it will hang at USPS Headquarters in the “MTAC room”.
Don Harle invited current and former MTAC Industry Chairs Joyce McGarvy, Bob O’Brien, Joe Schick and Bill Hoyt and soon to be Chair Anita Pursley to join at the podium. The Industry Leadership then recognized Anita Bizzotto for the many contributions she has made to MTAC and the mailing industry. It was announced that Anita Bizzotto was retiring from the Postal Service this coming January after a 34 year career having risen from letter carrier to Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President. Bob O’Brien spoke about how Anita Bizzotto had helped make MTAC a model of success. Joyce McGarvy presented a cover page mock up of Advertising Age featuring Anita Bizzotto’s photograph with many messages of praise from industry leaders. Anita Bizzotto expressed her appreciation for having the opportunity to work with MTAC over the years and thanked everyone for today’s ceremony.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20:
The meeting was called to order by Anita Pursley, MTAC Industry Vice Chair. Alixe Johnson, MTAC
Postal Vice Chair, reminded MTAC about the National Postal Forum (NPF) coming May 17 – 20, 2009
in Washington DC and suggested that everyone should plan to attend to benefit from the many important educational offerings which will be available. Anita Pursley explained that “New Improved RIBBS”, originally on this agenda, will instead be provided to MTAC in a separate communication.
