Uniform Requirements
The marching band has two uniforms: regular and summer
The regular band uniform consists of pants, jacket, baldric, hat, plume, gloves, blue AHS Marching Band t-shirt, black calf-length socks, and black Dinkles marching shoes. The school provides everything except the white gloves, black socks, black marching band shoes and AHS MB T-shirt. The regular band uniforms are worn during football season.
The summer uniform consists of Dickies 874 plain black pants, black calf-length socks, black Dinkles marching shoes, AHS Marching Band t-shirt, AHS Marching Band Polo. T-shirts will be worn under the polo shirts. Polo shirts will be handed out and collected at the end of each performance.
We will wear the black pants if we will be in rainy, muddy conditions during football season.
You are required to purchase the following for your band uniform(s):
Black Marching Shoes- Dinkles brand marching shoes in black. Either Glide or Vanguard model
Marching Band T-Shirt- The boosters have these shirts for $10
Plain Black Pants- Dickies 874 Work Pants (men) and Dickies 774 Work Pants (women) are the preferred pants. These pants have pockets in the front and rear as well as belt loops. No stretchy pants, no cargo pants, no black jeans, no sparkle pants, no striped pants, no pants with any type of design. The 700 Shop in Kittanning provides these pants with free alterations. Please remove the red “Dickies” tag from the pants.
White Nylon Gloves- available at school, 700 Shop, and ALGY
Black Socks- these should be plain black and calf height. No short ankle socks.
The ALGY website will have the shoes and the gloves you need. The other items on their site are optional.
