High School Admissions/Placement Test for the Class of 2013

The High School Admissions/Placement Test (HSAPT) is used for admission review and placement at the Diocese of Arlington high schools. Eighth graders currently enrolled in a Catholic school in the Diocese of Arlington are tested in their respective schools in early December. Students who are enrolled in either a public or private (non-Diocesan) school or home schooled must take the test as part of the application process to a Diocesan high school. Students taking the HSPT in the Archdiocese of Washington do not need to take the test in Arlington. Students applying from outside the Washington Metropolitan area do not need to take the test to apply for admission to Bishop O’Connell.

The Diocesan expectation for untimed testing is an extended time equal to 1½ times the regular testing time for those students with the appropriate IEP or Service Plan. Students qualifying for accommodations must submit the High School Admissions/Placement Test Registration Form and attach any documentation (including the IEP or Service Plan) to the test site no later than one week before the test date to allow the school to provide the appropriate accommodations. Only those students in possession of a valid IEP or Service Plan are eligible to receive testing accommodations. If you have questions, please contact the Director of Admissions at the test site.
