Teacher Requests 2018-2019 School Year
BCIS and BCPS will accept teacher requests beginning April 3, 2018 through May 1, 2018 at 3:45. Requests will be dated, and upon receipt and consideration will be prioritizes as such. The teacher request form is available at either BCIS or BCPS. Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up and returning the teacher request form. Both BCIS and BCPS will not email or accept emailed teacher request forms.
We utilize educational reasons for the placement of students. We look at a variety of factors, like class size, boy/girl ratios, ability levels, the need to separate certain students, social/emotional needs, and students with special education services. We will accept parent request and give them careful consideration. A parent request will not guarantee placement with a certain teacher.

State Testing
All students in grades 3 and 4 will take state tests in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Students in grade 4 will take a state test in Social Studies. All state tests will be administered using computers. Here is our testing schedule.

Opera Columbus
Opera Columbus will be visiting BCIS for two performances. The performances will take place at Wagnall’s Library. All students in grades three and four will attend both performances. All students and staff will walk from BCIS to Wagnall’s Library for the performances. On March 22, 2018, Opera Columbus will perform Jack and the Beanstalk with 40 of our students. On April 9, 2018, Opera Columbus will perform Little Red’s Most Unusual Day. Both performances begin at 10:00. We have very limited seating for parents. If you plan on attending, please sit in the back of the auditorium.
Invention League
Invention Convention will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:30. Parents are welcome to attend. If you have any questions about Invention Convention Day, please contact Mrs. Smith.
Save the Date 2018-2019
Meet the teacher and picture day are on August 14, 2018. Meet the teacher is from 6:00-7:30 and picture day is from 5:30-7:30.
