Funding Eligibility

Post Masters PhD students are eligible for funding for 4 years (with satisfactory progress)

Post Bachelors PhD students are eligible for funding for 5 years (with satisfactory progress)

Students can apply to the CS Graduate Committee for MAX ONE additional year of FCS/FGS and TA funding. Supervisors must provide justification that the student is making satisfactory progress. Students must have completed the research aptitude and thesis proposal to qualify for additional funding.

Once a student has passed the funding eligibility limit:

  • RA funding is at the discretion of the supervisor
  • No FCS/FGS funding will be provided
  • No TA funding will be provided unless additional TA positions are available and the student gets it in open competition.

Supervisors who fund RAs substantially above the recommended value will be asked to justify this increase and FGS/FCS funding may be reduced.
