RE: Literacy Test Preperation

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Your son/daughter has been recommended/displayed an interest in participating in an after-school program called Counting On You. This program is designed to improve his/her literacy (English) skills, and this program will prepare them for their upcoming Literacy Test on March 26th, 2015. Previous students in the program have enjoyed significant increases in their literacy and/or numeracy skills after completing the program.

The program runs every Mondays and Wednesdays. Spaces are limited in this program, which will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. (However,due to Family Day/Staff Meeting, classes will start on Tuesday, Feb. 10th and Wednesday, Feb. 11th, and then again on Tuesday, Feb. 17th and Wednesday, Feb. 18th). After this, Mondays and Wednesday classes will resume after these dates: Monday, Feb. 23rdto Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 from 3:10-4:40p.m. Students must attend both days each week to stay enrolled in the program.If students do not attend on a consistent and regular basis, they will be un-enrolled from the program. This is not a drop in session.

If you wish for your son/daughter to be enrolled in this valuable program, please return the bottom portion of this letter to Ms. Richardson in staffroom 3B or to her/his homeroom teacher--by February, 27th 2015.

Your son/daughter will receive a confirmation letter. once this form is returned to the school. If your son/daughter does not receive a letter, your child has notbeen enrolled. Please feel free to call me if you have concerns (905-567-4260 x522 voicemail ).
