NOTICE OF RACE
1RULES
1.1The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 – 2008 (RRS),
1.2the special regulations of Yachting Australia Inc.(YA) Addendum A – Part 2,
1.3the rules and bylaws of the relevant Class Associations,
1.4this Notice of Race (NOR) and the Sailing Instructions (SIs).
2ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
2.1Entry is restricted to helmspersons and crews who will be 18 years of age or under as at 31 December 2006.
2.2All helmspersons and crew shall be financial members of a yacht or sailing club affiliated with a State Yachting Authority, and have a Silver Card as issued by Yachting Australia.
2.3The regatta is open to boats in the following classes:
Laser classes:Laser Standard(boys only), Laser Radial and Laser 4.7.
Mixed Mono Division: All“off the beach” monohulls: 420, 125, etc.
Junior Division: Sabots, Minnows, Optimists etc.
Mixed Catamaran Division: All“off the beach” Catamarans: Hobie 16 etc
2.4Entries on the attached form, together with the prescribed fee, shall be lodged with the Marine Sports Manager, Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Ltd, PO Box 5021, MANLY, QLD 4179,by Friday 15th September 2006.
3FEES
The Entry Fee for all boats will be $50.00
4MEASUREMENT & SAFETY
Measurement is not required but where required in accordance with class rules, each boat shall have a valid measurement certificate which is available for inspection on request. Measurement and Safety Inspection may be carried out at any time during the regatta.

6SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions will be available upon registration at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly.
7VENUE
The host club will be Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Royal Esplanade, Manly.
8RACING AREA
The racing will be conducted on WaterlooBay in the area east-south-east of the harbour entrance leads.
9COURSES
Courses shall be Trapezoid or Windward/Leeward which shall be sailed in accordance with the sailing instructions.
10SCORING
10.1The Low Point scoring system, Appendix A will apply.
10.2Seven (7) races have been scheduled, of which four (4) races shall be completed to constitute a series.
10.3In the event that only four (4) races can be completed each boat’s series score will be the total of her scores for all races.
11PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each division.
12SAFETY
Personal flotation devices shall be worn at all times whilst afloat. Such devices shall be in good condition and in accordance with the specifications issued or approved by a national authority or standards organisation and branded in the country of origin or manufacture. Attention is drawn to ISAF Fundamental Rule 1.2.
13ENTRY DISCLAIMER
All those taking part in this regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility. Yachting Queensland, the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron Ltd and all others involved in the conduct and management of this event, shall not be liable for any loss of life or injury, or for the loss of property or damage thereto, whatsoever or howsoever occurring. The race documents and instructions in no way limit or reduce the complete and unlimited responsibilities of a competitor for the management and care of a boat that they have entered in the championship. Attention is drawn to ISAF Fundamental Rules 1 and 4.
14INSURANCE
All boats competing in this event should have third party liability insurance cover of not less than AUD $5 million ($10 million recommended) for any incident. All owners/competitors who sign the Entry Form are deemed to have made a declaration that they hold such cover.
