·  5.04.1 All approved professional development, whether individual or school-wide, shall be based on the improvement of student achievement on state criterion-referenced assessments and increasing student achievement and academic performance.

60 Required Hours of Professional Development

These 10 days must be completed to fulfill a 2012-2013 certified teacher’s contract

District “Back to School” PD Days: 4 days (24 hours)

District “End of School Year” PD Day: 1 day (6 hours)

Building PD Days: Embedded 2 days (12 hours)

___ 12 hours Embedded hours will be planned and provided by your building principal.

Individual PD Days: Flex 3 days (18 hours)

During the summer, all certified employees are required to attend the 3 hours technology workshop CTAT 2012. This workshop is PART of the “Flex” days. Dates, times and registration are posted in Shoebox. The remaining 2.5 days (15 hours) are the responsibility of the individual teacher but must include the remaining 3 hours of required technology and Arkansas History if needed. They may be earned during the summer, after school or other non contract days. Teachers are encouraged to attend the summer workshops posted in Shoebox from the coop and the district. Other workshops may qualify for professional development credit if preapproved by the district.
