Grading Policy:

50% Participation

1.  Be prepared for class

2.  Uses time wisely

3.  Participates in class, rehearsals and performances

30% Performance Tests

20% Written work(theory, quizzes, worksheets, music journal entries)

Supplies: Instrument, bow, shoulder rests or sponges(for violins and violas), rosin, pencil and method book

Expectations: Students will be reviewing basic skills necessary for string performance. They will begin to look more in depth into the detailed workings of a string orchestra and continue the study of intermediate string techniques and begin to work on more advanced string techniques.

Expectations: The goal of the program is to familiarize the students with string instruments in general and on their own specific instruments. Also, they will gain a basic level of attainment on their individual instrument. This will be done in class through demonstration, individual attention, hands on experience and peer interaction.
