MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

There are four categories of membership:

(i)Full Membership;

(ii)Associate Membership;

(iii)Life Membership;

(iv)Individual Membership.

 / Full membership
Full Membership of the Association is available only to those persons engaged in the business of owning and operating cranes within New Zealand and such other persons as the Association deems fit. Full Members are categorised as follows:
(1)Category A. These are Members owning mobile, tower, truck mounted cranes and general
construction cranes.
(ii)Category B. These are Members owning any other type of crane not represented in Category A.
 / Associate Membership
Associate Membership of the Association is available to
(i)persons who (whilst not directly concerned with the business of owning and operating cranes) are in similar trades or businesses so that, in the opinion of the Association, it is desirable to admit such persons to Membership; or
(ii)persons not domiciled in New Zealand but with whom the Association retains contact or has a reciprocal relationship.
 / Individual Member:
An individual member is an individual who has formerly been involved in the crane industry in New Zealand and who has now retired, ready to stop working but not to stop participating.
An application form for those who wish to apply for individual membership is available on the Association website.
Life Membership
Life Membership of the Association is an honorary for those persons who are elected as “Life Members” by a vote at General Meeting on the recommendation of the Council.

Subscription Rates

The 2017-2018 Annual subscription is made up as follows:

Full Member (Category A)Base Subscription: $688.00

plus tonnage at $1.58 per tonne capped at 1000 tonnes,

plus GST at 15%.

Full Member (Category B)$788.00plus GST at 15%.

Associate Membership$688.00 plus GST at 15%.

The Code of Ethics

Members of the Crane Association of New Zealand (Inc) shall, as a condition of on-going membership;

  1. Act with integrity, competence and in an ethical manner when dealing with the public, clients, prospective clients (‘prospects’) and fellow Members.
  2. Practice and encourage others to practice in a professional and ethical manner that will reflect credit on the New Zealand Crane Industry and its participants.
  3. Maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations (Including Crane Association’s Code of Ethics) of any government, government agency, regulatory organization, licensing agency or professional associations governing the Member’s professional activity.
  4. Not knowingly participate in any violation of such laws, rules or regulations.
  5. Membership of the Crane Association of New Zealand (INC) may be referenced by Members only in a dignified and judicious manner. The use of the reference may be accompanied by an accurate explanation of the role that Member has in Crane Association, the functions the Member is involved in as a result and the various activities undertaken by Crane Association.
  6. Members may use the Crane Association letters and the Crane Association logotype and are encouraged to do so but only in a dignified and judicious manner. The use of the Crane Association initials and the logotype may be accompanied by an accurate explanation of the requirements which are a pre-requisite of membership.
  7. Members shall not engage in any professional conduct involving dishonesty, deceit or misrepresentation or commit any act that reflects adversely on their or Crane Association’s, honesty, trustworthiness or professional competence.
  8. Exercise diligence and thoroughness in making recommendations and taking management actions.
  9. Have a reasonable and adequate basis, supported by appropriate research and investigation, for such recommendations or actions. During this process Members must distinguish between fact and opinion.
  10. Make reasonable and diligent efforts to avoid any material misrepresentation.
  11. Maintain appropriate records to support the reasonableness of such decisions or actions.
  12. Members shall use reasonable care and judgement to achieve and maintain independence and objectivity in making executive decisions or taking management actions.
  13. Members shall deal fairly and objectively with all clients and prospects when making recommendations, disseminating material changes in prior recommendations or when taking any executive decisions.
  14. Members shall preserve the confidentiality of information communicated to them by clients or prospects concerning matters within the scope of the client-member, prospective member relationship unless the member receives information concerning illegal activities on the part of the client or prospect.
  15. Members shall not make any statements, orally or in writing, that misrepresent;
  16. the experience that they or their firm, has already gained.
  17. the performance that they, or their firm, has already achieved.
  18. the services that they or their firms are capable of performing
  19. the services that they or their firms are intending to perform
  20. the Member’s or their firms, academic or professional qualifications
  21. Members shall disclose to their clients and prospects all matters, Including beneficial ownership of securities or other investments, which reasonably could be expected to impair the Member’s ability to make unbiased and objective recommendations and to take executive decisions.
  22. Members shall disclose to clients and prospects any consideration or benefit received by the member or delivered to others for the recommendation of any services to the client or prospect.
  23. Members shall not make any statements, orally or in writing, that misrepresent the performance that they or their firms have accomplished or can reasonably be expected to accomplish
