CODE OF CONDUCT

Title :Code of Conduct for Junior Members
Scope:
The purpose of this document is to clearly communicate what is expected from members and associates of the Solent Softball League. It is intended that all members and associates of the League follow and comply with the requirements defined when participating in League games, training sessions or tournaments or when representing Solent as part of a composite team at tournaments. (players, coaches, captains, tournament organisers, spectators, umpires, committee members etc)
Procedure:
Solent Softball League is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting thewellbeing of all its members. The League believes that it is important that members, team coaches, captains, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect andunderstanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged tobe open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have aboutany aspect of the Leagueactivities with League Welfare Officer.
As a member of Solent Softball League you are expected to abide by thefollowing junior code of conduct:
- All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
- All members must obey the League rules.
- All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participantsregardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
- Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
- Members must wear suitable safety equipment – Protective box (and gum shield if preferred for batting) for training and match sessions, as agreed with thecoach/team manager. Note: Helmets & catching equipment will be provided by the club unless personally purchased equipment is preferred.
- Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
- Members are not allowed to smoke at any of the League grounds or whilst representing theleague at tournaments.
- Members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any of the League grounds or whilst representing the league at tournaments.
