Scheuch on a Growth Path

The Scheuch Group acquires US market leading CAMCORP in the state of Kansas with around 18 million USD of annual turnover

Aurolzmünster/Upper Austria, February 16, 2016. Since the beginning of the year, the Scheuch Group has held a majority stake in US Company CAMCORP (Lenexa/Kansas City). This step is just the latest the company with headquarters in Aurolzmünster, Upper Austria continues its path to globalization. The acquisition of the family-run operation with over 70 employees is the perfect foundation for penetrating the North American market. The acquisition will bring in an inorganic growth of approx. 20 million EUR for the Scheuch Group in 2016.

The US company CAMCORP with around 70 employees is one of the frontrunners in the field of ventilation and environmental /air pollution control technology. The mid-size family company in the state of Kansas is considered the market leader in the North American market and generated sales of approximately 18 million US dollars last year. With its expertise as a full-service provider of sales services, engineering and its own production, CAMCORP represents a foothold for Scheuch to enter the US market. “What is particularly important to us is the transfer of know-how between the US and Austria and vice-versa. There is a lot of knowledge in the technologically sophisticated product range of our new subsidiary. We can learn and benefit from each other; for example, CAMCORP is active in sectors in which we are not,” emphasized Stefan Scheuch, Managing Director of Scheuch GmbH.

CAMCORP has decades of expertise and a series of well-known customers as references overseas to prove it. The foundation for this success, as with Scheuch, lies in the ownership structure. As Jörg Jeliniewski, Managing Director of Scheuch GmbH, said: “Just like Scheuch, the ventilation and environmental /air pollution control technology specialist from Lenexa/Kansas is a family-run company. The values of the two companies are very similar – terms like customer benefit, technology leadership, social responsibility and the efficient use of resources are important to all shareholders. All this makes CAMCORP the ideal partner for us in North America.”

The world in its sights, an eye towards home

In order to secure the competitive edge in Austria in the long run, the Scheuch Group is focusing heavily on global markets. At the same time, business in the DACH region is still of great importance to the company. Today as in the past, Scheuch feels an obligation to its home region. Expansion of its international presence promises not only growth, but also provides security for the Innviertel site. True to the motto “think global, act local”, Scheuch ensures jobs in the region for the long term and currently provides livelihoods to 1,000 employees and their families. The investment of8 million EUR in the Mehrnbach/Upper Austria site for the erection of both an office and a production building for the outsourced Scheuch LIGNO GmbH wood division is additional proof of this. The 2014 acquisition of LBH GmbH in Wolfsegg also underpins the dedication of Scheuch to Upper Austria.

“Now and in the future, we will take on global challenges in an intensified manner – this is the only way can we be an important partner to our customers. This internationalization strategy is leading to worldwide activities in the ventilation and environmental /air pollution control technologytechnology industry. Healthy growth is also paramount to any steps we take, which is connected to sustainable company planning,” says Jörg Jeliniewski. Stefan Scheuch adds “our declared goal is the intensification of our presence in global growth markets and the strengthening of our base in Innviertel. Therefore, the expansion of our international presence guarantees not only local customer proximity, but also the protection of our three production sites in Upper Austria.”

Although the 2015/2016 financial year does not end until the end of February, it is now expected that the incoming orders of the Scheuch Group will be about 40% more than in the previous year. After generating around 123 million EUR in the 2014/2015 financial year, the incoming orders will be about 170 million this year – and this is only based on organic growth. The majority takeover of CAMCORP will not take an effect until the beginning of the new financial year.

Foundation of subsidiary Scheuch ASIA Ltd.

In 2015, the cornerstone for a hub in Southeast Asia was laid with the foundation of Scheuch Asia Ltd. This involves new territory for the Scheuch Group. The high economic efficiency connected with increasing environmental awareness is creating new potential in this region. Together with the sales team from Austria, a considerable number of orders have already been fixed. Continuous expansion of the customer network is the result of this strategy.

Scheuch aims at 200 million EUR of incoming orders

The Scheuch Group has set the goal of 200 million EUR of incoming orders for the coming 2016/2017 business year. Among other things, this is to be achieved by the expansion of business activities in other important regions throughout the world, such as China, South America and the Middle East. Areas that have not yet been tackled will become the focus of activities of Scheuch in the world markets. “We are basically open for all regions of the globe, but of course evaluate where it makes most sense to use our resources,” explains Jörg Jeliniewski. Products with high manufacturing demands will also be produced in the future in the main factory in Aurolzmünster. Along with the aspiration of technology leadership, research and development will play a significant role for the entire Scheuch Group and is focused on the headquarters in Upper Austria.
