Welcome to Sixth Grade Health

Course Description:

Over the course of the next quarter, students will learn to promote and enhance their overall health and well-being through fun activities, class discussions, videos and projects. The course is designed to help students develop positive behaviors and attitudes that will lead to a lifetime of good health.

Below you will find a detailed explanation of what is expected in order to succeed in health class. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Good Luck, and let’s have fun!

Grading Policy:

Grades will be based on a total points system and will include the following:

•Class Participation

•Class work

•Projects

•Behavior

•Test/Quizzes

Parents and students are strongly encouraged to check Guardian Home Access on a weekly basis to view the most current grades for EVERY class. You are required to make-up any work that is missed. It is your responsibility to complete the work and hand it in.

  1. No put-downs!!!Stay positive
  1. Be on time. If you arrive late, you must have a pass
  1. Bathroom or drinks= first/last 5 minutes of class (Do not interrupt the class by asking to leave)
  2. Group activities, share the work (graded individually)
  1. Raise hand to ask questions or make comments (one person speaks at a time)
  2. Comments need to be school appropriate-think before you speak! You will be accountable for your words!
  1. Stay in your seat, do not disturb others from learning (fast finishers, find something to do)
