My wife, Nelly and I obtained our first Alaskan Malamute when we got married in February 1977. We were lucky enough to have had long time breeders, Ken and Jackie Bournes of Boru Alaskan Malamute fame as mentors us. After attending our first conformation dog show in 1977 we soon became addicted to the dog game. Over the first few years we participated in several weight pull competitions and obtained many awards including owning the first Malamute to obtain the Working Weight Pull Dog title in Canada. We had the honour of attending a booster show for our breed where our Ch. T'jano'sAnnatuvak WWPD won the weight pull competition in the morning which he followed up with later on the same day winning Best of Breed. However, due to career and family commitments we had to make the decision to stick with one of the two areas of our sport so we became dog show junkies.

In 1985 we obtained our first Cairn Terrier, ChCanakita's Son of a Butch. We also became in involved in the sport of “going to ground”. Our Cairn, MBIS MBISS Am Can ChSkerryvore Dances with Wolves was #1 Cairn in Canada for 3 consecutive years winning multiple National and Regional specialties.

Over the years we are proud to say we were able to provide other kennels with their foundation bitches in both Alaskan Malamutes and Cairn Terriers.

In 1993 I started my judging career. Since then I have had the pleasure of judging in many countries around the world including the United States, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Spain, Lithuania, Thailand, France, Indonesia, Philippines, Norway, Denmark, Mexico,Australia, and Germany as well as my own country, Canada. I have had the honour of judging several national specialties and regionalspecialties for Dachunds, Great Pyrenees, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds, Irish Red and White Setters, Rottweilers and Keeshounds as well as others.Today I am a licensed All Breed Canadian Kennel Club judge. The first FCI CACIB show in my career was in 1998.

Starting in 2000 I served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Kennel Club and continued to hold that position for9 years. As a strong believer in continuing education, I host monthly judging seminars which focus on a different breed each month. The seminars are held in compliance with the Canadian Kennel Club standards.

Thank you for this opportunity to judge once again in your beautiful country
