Dear Parents/Carers
Transition Courses for Year 6 in 2017/18 at Wrotham School
We aim to help all students make a successful and enjoyable transfer to Secondary education. Wrotham School is providing transition courses on a Tuesday after school during the Autumn term. The courses are open to all students in Year 6 irrespective of whether they intend to apply to Wrotham School or indeed another school.
The purpose of the transition courses is to provide a ‘taster’ of education in a secondary school where students can extend their talents in subjects of their choice. We would prefer students to select those subjects for which they have a genuine passion for learning.
The one hour session will run as follows:
- 3:35pm - students to report to the main hall and sign in with parent/carer
- 3:45pm - students will be collected from the hall by a teacher and taken to the classroom
- 4:45pm - students will be escorted back to the main hall for collection by parent/carer.
The courses offered are:
Tuesday 12th September-English
Tuesday 19th September-Maths
Tuesday 3rd October-History or Geography or RE or French
Tuesday 10thOctober-ICT or Drama or Music
Tuesday 17thOctober-Science or PE or Art
If your son/daughter is interested in attending any of the above, we would be grateful if you could complete the attached form and return to Wrotham School, Borough Green Road, Wrotham, Kent, TN15 7RD by no later than Monday 14thAugust 2017 via post or email it to .
Please be aware that spaces are limited and will therefore be issued on a first come first serve basis. Due to a high volume of requests, if we have a place available we WILL NOT acknowledge receipt of your application form, however if a particular subject you have requested is oversubscribed we will contact you to offer an alternative.
We look forward to meeting your child.
Yours sincerely
